Want to build a piece of artwork from the ground up?
Awesome! Commissioning me to create a custom painting, drawing or a terra cotta painted planter allows you to design exactly what you are looking for. You have a say on the size, style, surface and designated color palette that will best fit your space. Custom orders also make for great housewarming, wedding and birthday gifts.
One of my favorite parts of the custom order process is receiving inspiration photos from you. It helps me piece together the mood board for your art and get a better sense for what you’re looking for.

To get started with your custom order, fill out the Custom Order Inquiry Form. If possible, please include
- The general scope of your painting (what is it, who's it for, etc.)
- The desired size of the painting (sm, m, lg)
- The deadline for your order, if applicable.
Once you place your order, you can expect to hear from me within 1 week. From there, my process consists of a few easy steps.
Let's quickly get to know each other on a 30 minute Zoom call. I'll send you a link! We'll chat about what you’re looking for in terms of style, palette and canvas type/size. We’ll also discuss timing and price. Please come prepared with inspiration pictures. These can be sent via email. The more the merrier! Please note: If you prefer to chat via email, I’m cool with that too.. Whatever works best for you!
I’ll lay out all of the important details for your order in my Custom Order Form, including a price quote in the form of a dollar range (USD). I will re-share this form with you, as well as my 1:1 client agreement for you to sign and return. Please note: I require a 50% down payment (PayPal, Venmo, Bank of America Transfer). Once paid, you will officially be added to my custom order que and I will start working on your piece ASAP.
Once the first payment has been received, I will start working on your sketches to nail down the placement, design and fonts (if applicable). Up to 2 sketches are included in the price. Sketches are an especially important part of the process if the client wants to incorporate several ideas or pictures into one painting.
After the final sketch has been approved, the work on the painting starts! I love to keep you super involved in my process, so I will send over progress shots along the way. You are able to “edit” your order as many times as you’d like until it feels perfect for you.
Once your order is complete, I will share a final photo with you. This is your last opportunity to make any final tweaks. After you’re 100% satisfied, you'll complete your final payment – the remaining 50% + shipping (if needed).
Once your payment has been received, it will be carefully packaged and shipped to you or your gift receipt. If it is a gift, a complimentary handwritten note can be included. Tracking information will be sent promptly once shipped. Please note: If you are local to the Boston area, you can also arrange a pickup to avoid shipping costs. This option can be selected at checkout
I accept a limited number of commissions per month and it’s done on a first come, first serve basis dependent on my workload. For more information on my custom order process, please visit my FAQs page.
